TSO has announced a collaboration with the Institute for Digital Transformation, part of our mission to be the publisher of choice for standards and best practice.

As part of this association, we will work with the Institute to deliver the Digital Transformation Readiness Tool, offering invaluable support for organizations. The collaboration aims to harness the publishing experience of TSO with the thought leadership of the Institute to share insights and strategies that organizations need to succeed.

"We developed the Readiness Framework and assciated tool over five years ago" said John Palinkas, Managing Partner at the Institute for Digital Transformation. "We have used it extensively in our consulting engagements, providing its usefulness and value. Now working with TSO to create a fully automated version of the tool follows the natural progression to bring value to more organizations at scale. We are extremely pleased to be partnering with TSO and seeing our vision become reality."

Richard South, Managing Director at TSO said, "We are absolutely thrilled to join forces with the Institute for Digital Transformation, a true leader in the digital transformation sphere. This collaboration exemplifies our commitment to publish best practice and tools that help organisations to improve their performance."

TSO is delighted to announce the release of a new guidance app in collaboration with its client the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA).

TSO has developed an app designed to support those who work at sea. It's not just a resource; it's a lifeline for all seafarers, providing practical guidance on how to behave safely, maintain physical and mental health, and offering accessible fishing vessel guidance.

As the official publisher for the MCA, TSO continuously explores new ways to deliver vital content and guidance to high-risk sectors and this app is the latest milestone.

Ian Fik, Account Director, said "We're pleased to be entrusted by the MCA to develop this app, which will serve as an invaluable resource to everyone working at sea. In addition, it offers guidance and checklists to assist those involved in maintaining fishing vessels, making their jobs safer and more efficient. Our app platform is already established and trusted across various sectors, and we're absolutely delighted the MCA has chosen it to connect with their audience, ensuring that maritime safety is accessible to all."

Wednesday 26th April 2023 marked the annual awards ceremony for the health and safety community. Hosted by well-known TV presenter, Tess Daly, the night recognised the achievements of organisations in key health and safety categories.

One of those categories was 'The Best Use of Health and Safety Data to Lower Incident Rates'. This award recognises organisations that have endeavoured to collect data linked to risk control systems and health and safety management arrangements with an aim to analyse routine data and better understand the likelihood of future events. Nominees will have shown exceptional understanding of leading indicators and be able to demonstrate how to plan to better understand incidents to protect workforces.

TSO won the award for their hard work in managing the internationally renowned Safety Climate Tool (SCT) on behalf of the Health and Safety Executive. TSO have made marked improvements to the tool in recent years, engaging with users to ensure the tool remains market leading, and that benchmarking data collected and shared to customers can be effective in driving down incident rates across industries.

The SCT delivers an objective measure of safety culture (often referred to as 'the way things are done around here'). It is a combination of the attitudes and values held, the behaviours and the management system within an organisation or departments, that influences how something is done, rather than how it should be done. Since managing the tool, TSO has acquired more users across a range of industries and sectors, which has led to numerous reliable datasets for organisations to benchmark their performance against. Current active user organisations of the tool cover circa 130,000 workers.

We turn authoritative content and data into outstanding performance.
