Designing trusted publications
Thousands of people study for their citizenship test each year. They are tested on the information from the official Guide to New Residents. TSO applied clear, accessible layouts to the official Guide and included visuals, summaries and prompts helping learners navigate and understand important information more easily. Infographics distil complex history into clear, memorable visuals.
Creating video that informs and supports behaviour change
Many driving theory test slots are wasted because candidates don’t turn up on time, or don’t bring the correct documentation. TSO worked with DVSA to produce the “Taking your theory test – what to expect” video. The animation explains what you need to bring, what happens when you arrive and things to know when sitting the test. The video includes a British Sign Language (BSL) signer, improving accessibility for deaf users.
Designing intuitive apps and interactive tools
TSO designed mobile apps and digital tools help users test, learn and engage with official content. Data-driven decisions ensure that interactive quizzes and practice tests help to reinforce learning.
Turning data and rules into clear, visual infographics
Creative design is essential to understand information and can even contribute towards saving lives. For the Ship Captain’s Medical Guide, used onboard ships when there is no medical professional present, we designed complex infographics like the Spinal Immobilisation diagram - ensuring technical accuracy without overwhelming the user.
