TSO at Civil Service Live London 2014

On 15th and 16th July this year TSO will be at Civil Service Live at the QEII Conference Centre, the event that brings together civil servants working in government departments and agencies with private sector organisations to collaborate, share ideas and develop methods to make best practice the norm.

This year’s event focuses on four themes:

  • A modern civil service
  • A more skilled civil service
  • Smarter working
  • Being an inspiring team leader

In the main seminar sessions, at 3pm on 15th July, you can hear from John Sheridan, Head of Legislation Services at The National Archives, talking about Transforming the Public Record. In its role to improve access to public sector information and promote its re-use, The National Archives has embraced the latest digital technology. In this session John will explore how linked data, open source technologies and agile development can improve the accuracy, reliability and speed of publishing important information. Using the legislation.gov.uk and thegazette.co.uk websites, built for TNA by TSO, as case studies he will talk about how transactions have been transformed and data opened up to a wider audience. These public-facing government services and the digital transactions that drive them have been designed and developed to provide an enhanced user experience as well as streamlining and digitising workflows to reduce cost.

TSO will be on stand 84 in the Modern Civil Service hub. On our stand you’ll be able to see presentations and demos from our experts on a range of topics including:

  • How to digitise public services
  • How to redesign public services
  • How to open up public data for transparency and re-use
  • How to drive value from content
  • How to turn documents into data

We look forward to seeing you there!
