With just weeks to go before her practical driving test, Lauren Ratcliffe was announced the winner of the 2013 ‘Win a Car Competition’. The competition is run by TSO (The Stationery Office) the official publisher for the DVSA (Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency).

Lauren entered the competition and won a Peugeot 107 Access by answering all the competition entry questions correctly and by completing this tie breaker question:

“Learning to drive will change my life, because…?”

Lauren continued: “… as an 18 year old carer I will be able to travel easier to places with exciting opportunities for individuals with severe disabilities.”

The slightly grubby entry form was enclosed with a small note which read “I apologise for an untidy application, the man I look after put food on there after wanting to help me fill it in”.

Lauren was over the moon to find out that she had been selected as the winner. When we called to tell her the good news there was silence as she recovered from utter disbelief. Then, after her win had sunk, in Lauren could be heard jumping for joy!

So long ‘L’ plates, hello ‘P’ plates!

Since entering the competition Lauren passed her Theory Test by studying with the official DVSA Theory Test for Car Drivers Kit. Within just a couple of weeks of finding out she had won a car Lauren was due to take her practical test and we would like to wish her all the very best. Here’s what Lauren had to say:

“I was overwhelmed after finding out I had won the competition, I never thought for a second I would win, and I'm so grateful TSO and DVSA gave me this opportunity. Thank you.”

Lauren will collect her car in February 2014 from Robins & Day Preston, 382 Blackpool Road, Preston, Lancashire, PR2 2DS. Telephone: 01772 735811.
