TSO retains Driving Standards Agency publishing contract

TSO, part of the Williams Lea Group and the leading supplier of publishing solutions to the public sector, has today announced that it has been awarded the contract to publish official editions of the Driving Standards Agency’s (DSA’s) driver education and learning materials, including 'The Official Highway Code' for the next three years.

The contract will commence on 01 October 2011, with an option to extend for a maximum of two years after the initial three year period.

TSO is DSA’s existing official publisher partner and won the new contract after a highly competitive process designed to identify a strategic publishing partner best placed to support DSA’s objective of encouraging Safe Driving and Riding for Life.

As DSA’s partner of choice, TSO will deliver DSA’s information to all road users, maintain DSA’s brand values and provide excellent quality of service, while delivering value for money to government and reducing environmental impact.

Solutions to be provided under the new partnership include:

  • Best in class, innovative multi-format publishing – TSO will create and produce high quality, multimedia products to disseminate DSA’s National Standards and Syllabi so people can access DSA’s information in the ways they want. Innovations include smartphone apps, online elearning tools and ebooks
  • Educational focus – TSO will work with expert partners to deliver best-practice, competence-based educational publishing solutions to encourage real understanding and continued development at every stage of a road user’s life
