BS 5839-1: New Edition - Fire Detection and alarm systems for buildings code of practice for system design, installation, commissioning and maintenance

This new edition of the British Standards publication BS 5839-1:2002, incorporation amendment 1, provides the following significant changes:

  1. Clarification of how the connections between detectors and remote indicators should operate.
  2. Clarification of the signal transmitted by the control equipment under fire conditions.
  3. An explanation of the permitted variation in detector location, where access for maintenance is difficult.
