The change of venue to the Millennium Gloucester hotel at South Kensington this year seemed a popular choice. We met a good mix of vendors and clients seeking solutions from semantic technology, some familiar faces some new.

TSO was a Silver show Sponsor and we had great attendance at our colourful stand. Many visitors came to see the demonstrations and talk with our friendly semantic team, relating the demonstrations to their own business challenges.

We ran a variety of demonstrations including the award winning Legislation.gov.ukopens in new window, the Organograms project opens in new window, Gazettes searchopens in new window, Local Authority Dataopens in new window and the launch of the Flint SPARQL editor.

Many visitors were keen to trial Flint and discuss the latest functionality, and appreciate the recent improvements in version 1.0. You can see more for yourself at openuplabs.tso.co.uk/demos/sparqleditoropens in new window.

TSO’s Richard Goodwin gave a presentation about Organograms, moving linked data into production and reaping the benefits, explaining how this helped government departments meet the transparency agenda, taking into account challenging internal processes and feedback from users which led to improvements in the process, with this continually evolving development. He outlined how the whole process has been streamlined and vastly improved from existing print based origins.
