Legislation.gov.uk wins ‘Best example of ICT-enabled innovation and enterprise’ Award

We are delighted that legislation.gov.uk won the ‘Best example of ICT-enabled innovation and enterprise’ category at the recent UK Public Sector Digital Awards. Legislation.gov.uk was joint winner in the category with the NHS North Central London Cluster Procurement Cooperative - NHS Camden Shared Services.

Legislation.gov.uk has transformed the way professionals and the public access and use legislation. TSO worked closely with The National Archives (TNA) to develop the website as the first linked data statute book in the world and now manages and hosts the site. A massive 6.5 million documents are available on the website and this is growing daily. It has become one of the government’s most visited sites with monthly page views of up to 50.5 million.

Terry Blake, Technology Services Director for TSO said, ‘Our team is proud to be part of this project and were very pleased to be able to attend the awards ceremony with TNA to celebrate this achievement. Legislation.gov.uk has been a great success in making complex data freely available and we are working with TNA to use groundbreaking techniques to transform the legislation publishing process.’
