  1. What does TSO do?

We are on of the largest publishers by volume in the UK, publishing more than 9,000 titles a year in print and digital formats.   2. I want to publish a book. Can you help?

    As a contract publisher, we generally enter into long-term contracts to publish multi-format titles for our clients. We specialise in publishing official and regulatory information.
    If you are an author looking to publish a one-off title, you can contact a specialised self-publishing organisation that can help writers launch their titles through print on demand.

  3. I need some material printed. Can you help?

    We operate our own printing press and normally manage large-volume contract print, or print on demand jobs. As such we don't generally have the capacity for short-run ad hoc print jobs. However we judge every job on its own merits and in some circumstances we might be able to help.

  4. I need to get my Annual Report and Accounts published as a Command and House Paper. Can you help?

  5. Who are TSO's clients?

  7. What is the difference between TSO and HMSO?

    TSO was privatised from HMSO in 1996 and we provide a comprehensive range of information and publishing solutions to the public and private sectors.
    Her Majesty's Stationery Office (HMSO) operates within The National Archives (TNA). HMSO is responsible for the administration of Crown copyright and the regulation of the contracts covering the printing and publication of legislation and other official materials.

Publications and Orders

  1. How do I buy a book or an official publication from TSO?

    You can buy a book from TSO through our online bookshopopens in new window or by calling our Customer Services team on +44 (0)870 600 5522, Monday to Friday, 09:00 – 17:00. Alternatively, you can also use many of the high-street bookshops, or one of our UKagents (link to UK Agents)

  2. How do I cancel my subscription for publications from TSO?

    To cancel a subscription please call our Customer Services team on +44 (0)870 600 5522 or email subscriptions@tso.co.uk
  3. What is the difference between a Standing Order and a subscription?

    The Standing Order service allows you to automatically receive new publications that you require in a particular subject area, or in a particular series. Each time a title is published in the subject area you have specified, you will be invoiced automatically, or sent a proforma if you don't have a statement account with TSO.
    Subscriptions are available for publications or online content that you subscribe to for a period of a year. 84 days before the subscription is due to expire we will send you a renewal notice and a series of reminders. If no response is received, your subscription will not be renewed.
  4. Is it possible to have corporate access to an online subscription?

    Yes. Please call our Customer Services team on +44 (0)1603 696860 and they will be happy to discuss what deal would be best for you.
  5. How can I buy parliamentary and statutory publications?

    You can buy parliamentary and statutory publications from our online bookshopopens in new window, by calling our Customer Services team on +44 (0)870 600 5522, or from one of our authorised UK Agents.
  6. I have a query about my invoice, who should I contact?

    If you have a query about an invoice for a publication you have received, please call +44 (0)1603 694901.
  7. I've got a problem with my order, what should I do?

Miscellaneous

  1. What is a PDF file and why can't I open it?

    Documents marked as a PDF are saved in Portable Document Format. You will need to have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your computer in order to view PDF files. You can download this software free of charge from the Adobe websiteopens in new window. The free Reader allows you to navigate and print PDF files.
  2. Which smartphones are your mobile apps compatible with?

    Currently, all our mobile applications have been developed for the iPhone only.
  3. What is an ebook?

    An ebook is an electronic book which is readable on computers or other electronic devices. Ebooks allows for easy download to your PC, or to most handheld devices, giving you access to publications while you're on the move.
